We participated in the Hachiman Shrine’s Rei-taisai Festival at Yamato-cho, Nakano, on Sunday, July the 22nd. The total of sixteen participants were those who hailed from America, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan.
We paraded with the portable shrine, Omikoshi, around the neibourhood of Yamato-cho. It was part of the fun of a festival occasion that we were able to walk in the streets, as pedestrians are usually not allowed to do so.
Those from overseas were quite delighted with the food and drink provided at the rest area on the way. Via the unusual experiences of a festival, we had another memorable day.
