On the twenty-fifth of May, a Saturday—fifty-one Japanese language learners and ANIC volunteers went to Itako in the Ibaraki prefecture and Sawara in the Chiba prefecture.
The participants went to the Itako Ayame (Iris) Garden and watched a “wedding boat”. The group’s bus departed from Nakano’s city hall. The tour members delighted in closely observing a bride attired in white.
After that, they strolled in the town of Sawara and visited the Ino Tadataka Memorial Hall. Tadataka Ino surveyed all over Japan when he was 55 to 71 years of age, a period of sixteen years. Partecipants visited the place with great interest. Lastly, they visited the Katori Jingu Shrine.
The tour’s participants reflected that the bride was quite beautiful and that they were glad to have had the chance to work with the volunteer teachers.
