Assistance of supporting activities because of the new Coronavirus pandemic
For people with roots overseas
The Mitsubishi Foundation x Central Community Chest of Japan
Since July 2019, the Intensive Japanese Class for Junior High School Students
have been held Wednesday & Thursday morning every week.
Some students have to start with Japanese alphabets, while others can manage to
communicate in Japanese, but need to continue studying at ANIC to concentrate
in reading and writing to keep up their age level.
Last academic year, we had 18 students from 8 local junior high schools in
Nakano ward. Their backgrounds were all different and it was concerned that
some students might not be able to finish their grades if the new Coronavirus
pandemic was affecting their parents’ /cares’ economic status to pay travel
expenses for their children to come and study at ANIC.
Then Funds from “Mitsubishi Foundation x Central Community Chest of Japan”
were awarded so that the students can come and study Japanese at ANIC
without any worries of travel expenses.
We are most grateful to the authorities for Mitsubishi Foundation and Central
Community Chest of Japan and for their assistance and cooperation at this
difficult time.
Our text book, “Kodomo no Nihongo” contains 34 units altogether.
The students who finished the textbook are required to write an essay and
present it in front of their class. Using acquired Japanese grammar and
vocabulary, they try to express their thoughts and feelings in their essay.
When they stand and present their work, they look proud and confident, who will encourage their peer group.
