Saginomiya Japanese language classes have started.
”The Saginomiya Karuta” was played in the Saginomiya Japanese language class at the beginning of 2024.
Saginomiya Karuta is a local karuta game in which both reading and drawing cards were made from chosen local people’s works.
The students finished Japanese lesson early to enjoy playing karuta.
Even to the volunteers, who have lived in the Saginomiya area for many years, there were a lot of information which they would know for the first time as they were excited reading each card and said, “I didn’t know this”.
The children wanted to get as many cards as possible, so they gradually moved their bodies forward, and on the last card, everyone’s hands overlapped and the game was decided by rock-paper-scissors session
