The Summer Holiday Children’s Japanese Class was held 11 sessions this summer from Monday 22 July to Wednesday 21 August. A total of 72 children studied Japanese, and 58 Japanese language volunteers provided Japanese language instruction.
This year, the number of participants increased significantly compared to last year, including elementary and junior high school students.
So that we received many more volunteers than ever before. The elementary and junior high school students worked hard to learn Japanese, even in the heat of July and August.
On Wednesday 21 August, the final day of the programme, the students wrote essays about the results of their summer studies and each one of them gave a presentation entitled ‘You did it’ party was held. Two learners who are also junior high school students chaired the event, and 37 primary school students and 20 junior high school students presented their essays on themes such as ‘My dream’ and ‘My favourite thing’.
This year also the Nadeshiko Kai, a volunteer group of elderly people, presented the children with stationery.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event.
