Friday volunteers took part in Nakano Diversity Festa 2024.
On Sunday the 10th of November, Nakano Diversity Festa 2024 was held at Meiji University’s Nakano Campus.
Friday volunteers introduced their usual activities there. In addition, they created a ‘Let’s talk in Easy Japanese’ corner and a ‘Boccia experience’ corner.
Visitors were called in and asked “Would you like to have a conversation in Easy Japanese?” and “Would you like to try boccia?” Both adults and children participated and were interested in the activity reports.
Participants’ comments included: “It was surprisingly difficult to converse in Easy Japanese. I enjoyed meeting people and cultures from other countries that I don’t normally come into contact with.”.
The Nakano Diversity Festa was attended by a variety of organizations. More than 30 organizations from welfare, education, children and they could interact with one another, which was a very meaningful event.
