A cooking class focusing on the cuisine of Inner Mongolia was held on November the twenty- ninth (a Saturday).
The instructors were Ms. Liu and Ms. Dai ; they studied Japanese via ANIC.
The menu included Mongolian Xiànbǐng, millet porridge, Chinese-style cucumber and enoki salad, Mongolian donuts, and milk tea.
Can You guess what the dishes of Inner Mongolia (a part of China) are like? Is there, for instance, a great deal of mutton? Well, the inhabitants do not necessarily eat mutton every day. Chinese-style cooking appears to also be part of the diet, likely due to Inner Mongolia being part of China. During our time, the instructors introduced typical Mongolian dishes– which we can make with ingredients available at any Japanese supermarket.
Some participants expressed their interest in making them at home as well. Having a tasty meal and learning about a culture, particular one not so well-known, makes for a fulfilling day!
