Closing ceremony for the Children’s Japanese Summer class “We’ve done it party!”
Monday the 23rd of August was the last day of Children’s Japanese
Summer Class. This year as well as before the students gave speeches in Japanese to show how much progress they have made. Due to the Corona pandemic, guests and parents could not be invited, and in the rented audio-visual hall only children and volunteers participated in the presentation. The children still did their best to write articles in Japanese by themselves, which included self-introduction, what they like to do, their dreams and hobbies. Under the Covid-19 circumstances 3 classrooms were provided and we frequently sanitized,
measured temperature and kept a face mask while studying.
It was different from usual, but with volunteers support we managed the schedule like other years. This summer 37 children studied and up to 50 volunteers supported classes. In addition to Corona crisis, we had scorching hot days and heavy rain, which was different from other years, still the children did very well and we would like to thank everybody who supported the course.
