High School Entrance Information Session with “Easy Japanese”
High school entrance information session in “Easy Japanese” for students, parents and carers whose first language is not Japanese was held on the 3rd of November (National holiday) at Nakano Zero West Hall.
Students and their parents who have a connection to America, China, Nepal and Thailand and volunteers for Japanese teaching and teaching assistants were there totaling about 50 participants.
The session informs, in “Easy Japanese”, about Japanese high school education system, Tokyo Metropolitan high schools and its special entrance requirements for foreign residents in Tokyo. It can also be explained in various languages with aid of voluntary translators.
Students’ backgrounds have changed and it can be because of the effect of Covid-19.
After the meeting there was an opportunity for individual consultations and this time more parents attended than before which proves more interest is shown by parents and carers.
