On Wednesday the 10th of July during the Intensive Junior High School Japanese Class, a lecturer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Citizens Safety Division was invited to teach the students about the necessary manners and rules for a safe life in Japan.

The Junior High School Japanese Intensive Classroom currently has about 40 students from local junior high schools in the ward. Some of the students have been in Japan for only a few months, while others have been here for several years, and as their Japanese learning status varies, the lecturers was asked to explain to the students in ‘easy Japanese’.

In particular, one of the social networking problems, ‘Yami Byte’, was explained with specific examples, which the students were very interested in and listened seriously. They also felt the importance of protecting their personal information by themselves. There are more and more cases of children with foreign connections with text box, being involved in crimes and troubles in Tokyo, and this was a valuable learning opportunity before the summer holidays.

Tutor from the Philippines explained with real-life examples.
