On the 18th July (Thursday), an evening chill party was held. It was an opportunity for people to experience the Japanese atmosphere during the hot summer. The party was lively enjoyed with fairground entertainment, balloon art, Senbon fishing, ball tossing, bowling and super ball. Volunteer dressers dressed the guests in yukata, and the Agehakai teacher taught them how to dance the ‘Tokyo Ondo’ Bon dance. They danced many times in a circle and became very good dancers. Some said, “I was happy to be able to wear a yukata.” and “It was fun to dance together with everyone.”
In addition, a stuffed toy Crouton made an appearance and it was very popular with the participants, who was interviewed by Toa Gakuen’s high school student volunteers, many of whom volunteer at the event every year.
A number of foreign participants and students from East West Japanese Language School participated as the volunteers this time. It was an enjoyable and memorable time with a touch of Japanese summer atmosphere, which was created by the various volunteers working together.
