Wellington Nakano Educational Exchange in 2016, “Send-off Party”
Send-off party for Wellington Nakano Educational Exchange in 2016 was held on July 16th. The Project is running the program for exchange the junior high school students between Nakano and Wellington, New Zealand, to raise internationally-minded citizens, as well as encourage foreign language study (Japanese and English) for children. Last year, students from Wellington were received by host families of the junior high schools in Nakano, Dai-yon, Dai-go, Dai-nana, Dai-hachi, Kita-nakano and Midorino. In this year, 19 students will visit New Zealand as exchange program and those students are mainly selected from the families which received foreign students in 2015. During 18 day visits in New Zealand, growth and development of children will be expected through the various experiences and civil exchange between two cities is also expected.
