The summer vacation program final for the children’s Japanese classes “Yattane! no kai”
The 19th of August (WED) marks the end of the “summer vacation children’s Japanese classes”
The children gave their speeches in front of parents, teachers, and ward staff.
The children had truly prepared some rather amazing speeches for us. Children having just arrived in Japan gave a simple speech about their favorite food while students testing their hand at written Japanese choose from difficult topics like “future dreams”, “the voice in my heart”, “field trip”, “greed” and more.
Every year around this time we receive many overseas inquiries concerning the “summer vacation children’s Japanese classes.” However, since there is a large amount of inner-district children who have also applied, we feel that this year the children attending elementary and middle schools within the ward should get first priority.
This summer, we have amassed 50 volunteers ready to teach Japanese to 32 children. Thank you always for your constant support throughout this scorcher of a summer.
