中野区国際交流協会（ANIC）

Visit to Xicheng District in Beijing was done and the friendly baseball games were organized for 6 days from 12^th to 17^th of August.  The baseball game for youth which organized by Nakano and Xicheng was started from 1990 and the friendly game in this year recorded 21^st anniversary.  The students of 6^th grade from youth baseball team in Nakano formed a team “All Nakano”, and it had a lot of practice.  The Nakano team won two games but lost a game against Xicheng team, and good friendship exchange was done among the students from both cities through friendly baseball games.  Achievement of good friendship exchange of students can be considered as better fact than the result itself of the games.  This program continues over 20 years, and the youth who participated in friendly baseball exchange program during the elementary school days in Xicheng district worked as an umpire of the games.  The Xidan elementary school which played against Nakano team for many years becomes a baseball improving/strengthening school in Beijing nowadays.  During the visit,　students discovered many things and they had irreplaceable experience. The office expresses the appreciation for all the persons who assisted this friendship exchange program.
