The “briefing for the high school advancement of foreign children and parents” was organized on September 24th (Saturday) at the NAKANO ZERO west building. It was supported by the Association for Nakano International Communications as well as the NPO Youth Support Center. The briefing in this year was the second time and middle (junior high) school students who study Japanese language at ANIC and students who study at middle school nearby, also their parents, guardians and Japanese volunteers totaled for around 40 persons participated in the meeting. The parents and children from China, the Philippines, Thailand and Nepal participated in the briefing and Japanese volunteers supported them during the meeting. The entrance examination system for the metropolitan high school and its special measures such as permission to use their dictionary for foreign students who stay in Tokyo were explained by “plain Japanese”. The university students from “Children’s Japanese Language Class” of ANIC mentioned various suggestions on future studies and middle school students listened attentively to their talks.
